Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water: You were wrong! The water came to us. Sharknado, the cult phenomenon took the world by surprise, even enjoying a few big screen limited releases.
In one of the most dramatic effects moments of the film, the Synapse team of artists created a mythic-climatic moment where the star rescues the girl: chain sawing her out of a blood-squirting shark’s belly in a stunningly visual display of blood and gore.
The Synapse FX artists built a realistic floating shark fin rig for swimming scenes, wind and debris FX and rain FX, creating a world gone mad, where sharks are swept out of the water in tornados and dropped into the vast LA metropolis. Never taking itself too seriously, Sharknado was a wild high seas adventure set in urban LA, and a great opportunity for the Synapse team to show off it’s wide range of Talents and Effects.

Ok, let's be honest. When I started this episode, I planned it as an April Fool's joke for the channel. But after researching it, it turned out that the theory of a sharknado is BIZARRELY plausible. With Sharknado 4 coming out this summer, we should all be prepared in case of a REAL shark storm!
